ARCHIVES &
ARCHITECTURE, LLC is a cultural resources management firm,
headquartered in San Jose, California, with a satellite office in Santa
Cruz, California.
Established in 1989 by the late Glory Anne Laffey, Historian, the
firm’s managing partners today include Franklin Maggi, Architectural
Historian, Leslie Dill, Historic Architect, and Charlene Duval, Public
Historian. With over a decade of working together as a team, the
present partners have built ARCHIVES & ARCHITECTURE, LLC into one
of the most well-respected cultural resources management firms in
Northern California.
Formed to provide professional cultural resource management in the San
Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas, ARCHIVES & ARCHITECTURE serves
public agencies, private businesses and individuals with technical
historical preservation services within the field of urban planning.
Our experience ranges from large-scale comprehensive resource surveys
and context statements to intensive historic property assessments, and
has included consulting design review of architectural projects using
the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic
Properties.
We have established in-house standards for work in each of
these disciplines, and have assembled a team with a proven level of
experience in a variety of fields. The firm engages specialized local
historians, technical editors, and authors as collaborators on our
historical projects, to ensure accurate investigations that are
relevant to local settings.
The surveys and assessment work have
proven successful as effective planning tools within the government
regulatory environment. |
