Leslie Dill
Partner & Architectural Historian


Leslie Dill brings her experience as a preservation architect to the documentation, evaluation, and renovation of historic buildings for the firm of Archives & Architecture. She provides quality assurance and significance evaluations for survey assignments. She has a Master of Architecture with a Historic Preservation Program Certificate from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. She is a past president of the Heritage Council of Santa Clara County and has served on the Town of Los Gatos Historic Preservation Committee.

Charlene Duval
Partner & Historian


Charlene Duval is principal historian for Archives & Architecture. She has a Master of Arts in Social Science with an emphasis in History, Archaeology, and Geography from San José State University. She was co-author of Reflections of the Past, An Anthology of San Jose, 1995, and is a past president of the Santa Clara County Archaeological Society. Ms. Duval is presently the Executive Secretary of the Sourisseau Academy for State and Local History.

Franklin Maggi
Partner & Architectural Historian


Franklin Maggi is an architectural historian and survey manager for Archives & Architecture. With an extensive background in public planning policy, Mr. Maggi has been project manager on a number of major cultural resource surveys in the Santa Clara and Santa Cruz county areas and has prepared intensive-level project assessments involving historical resources for a large and diverse range of properties in the region. He incorporated the non-profit Heritage Council of Santa Clara County, is a board member of Los Fundadores y Amigos de Alta California, functions as the Administrator of the Glory Anne Laffey Architectural Archives, is a board member of the Sourisseau Academy for State and Local History, and has been a commissioner on both the San José Historic Landmarks Commission and the Santa Clara County Historical Heritage Commission. He has a professional degree in Architecture with a concentration in Architectural History from the University of California, Berkeley.


The partners are qualified, per the Secretary of the Interior's Standards,
in the fields of History, Historic Architecture, and Architectural History.
