On March 24, 2017, State Historians from the California Office of Historic Preservation traveled to San Jose to present a workshop on historic preservation for local heritage commissioners and planning staff – representative of public agencies county-wide. The packed house at the Alfred Alquist Building auditorium in Downtown San Jose listened to presentations by Lucinda Woodward on preservation ordinances and programs for local agencies, Amanda Blosser on surveys as part of the planning process, and Shannon Lauchner on the Mills Act. A full catalog of presentations that the SHPO staff have put together can be found here.

The workshop was hosted by the Sourisseau Academy for State and Local History, and co-sponsored by Preservation Action Council of San Jose, and the Glory Anne Laffey Architectural Archives.
